Neutrophils are responsible for helping during the acute phase of inflammation, which is usually a result of bacterial infection or environmental exposure. Neutrophils are one of the first-responders of inflammatory cells which migrate to the site of inflammation where they act as phagocyte. Neutrophils are the most abundant type of granulocytes and an important part of the innate immune system.
