The chain of custody is a set of legal records that shows transfer of ownership from one party to other party and can be used as the evidence at each point in the lifetime. These chains could take both electronic and non- electronic form and shows the relevance of the latest documents with the other documents.
While purchasing a property, the chains of custody helps in identifying the original owner of the property and therefore, the buyer can make sure that he is buying the property from the right person.
