A rectangle measures 16 cm by 4 cm. It has the same area as a square. Find the perimeter of the square.

ok ... in this situation... we need to find the area of the rectangle first as it is equal to the area of square .

so .... area of rectangle = l×b= 16×4

= 64 ∴area of square = 64

area of square = s×s

∴to find one side of the square ... we need to find the root of 64 = 8

∴one side = 8

now : perimeter of square : 4 × sides = 4 × 8 = 32 ║
