        Restriction enzymes are a protein made by bacteria that cleaves DNA at specific sites among-st  the molecule.

         Restriction enzymes are used to cut DNA into smaller fragments. The cuts are 99% always made in a specific nucleotide sequences. Different restriction enzymes recognize and cut into many different DNA sequences.
