how many solutions are there to the equations 5x+1=3x+7?

5x + 1 = 3x + 7

Subtract 3x to both sides:

2x + 1 = 7

Subtract 1 to both sides:

2x = 6

Divide 2 to both sides:

x = 3

So this equation only has 1 solution.
