so first you use P.E.M.D.A.S., so parenthesis first but you cant do anything with that so, moving on. No exponents, and you use the distributive property on the 1/2(6+4a) and you get 3+2a so now we have 2a+3=3+2a you then subtract by three on both sides and then you 2a=2a, so when a solve for x prob;en reflects like that then you have a "any real number" answer. if that is a choice, then i helped.  *wipes sweat* 
so the answer is "any real number"
