Continental army (lead by George Washington), Smiths, and women that had to take mens jobs (farming for example) while they were called to war - also making clothes, serving as nurses, raising money for campaigns, as messengers too and some even spies - were all groups that supported the Patriot War Effort by contributing. White men served and fought as well as some free Africans served the army.
