The answer is:  " [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex] " .

 [tex] \frac{1}{12} + \frac{3}{12} = \frac{(1 +3)}{12} = \frac{4}{12} [/tex]  .

→  Simplify:   "  \frac{4}{12} [/tex] "=  (4÷4) / (12÷4) = [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex] .
